April is Autism Awareness Month, a time dedicated to fostering understanding and acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum. This year, we are excited to strengthen our impact by partnering with local businesses to spread awareness and support our community.
Our goal is to create an inclusive environment for individuals with autism, and we believe that collaboration with local businesses and individuals is key to achieving this goal. By joining forces, we can amplify our message, educate the public, and raise much-needed funds for programs and resources that benefit individuals and families affected by autism.
Here are some ways your business can get involved:
1. Awareness: Put our Inclusion Advocate stickers on your car, water bottle, ski helmet or laptop. Proudly display a window clings in the window of your home or business. Click HERE to participate! We are partnering with Bonfire Coffee and Dos Gringos Burritos & Cafe Ole to distribute custom java jackets on every cup of coffee that goes out the door during the month of April! Carbondale Beer Works and Garage Bar will also spread the love with plantable seed paper coasters embedded with a mixture of wildflower seeds that will bloom colorful wildflowers every year.
2. Fundraising Initiatives: Host a fundraising event where a portion of proceeds during the month of April is donated to Ascendigo. This not only raises funds but also brings your customers together for a noble cause.
3. Employee Training: Organize training sessions for your team to understand autism and learn how to support individuals within your business community. This can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. We can support these trainings upon request – our Ascendigo Academy online curriculum is also an amazing resource.
4. Social Media Partnerships: Collaborate with us on social media by sharing posts, using hashtags like #AutismAwarenessMonth, and showcasing how your business is supporting our mission. Together, we can reach a wider audience and inspire action.
5. Join Us: In celebration of Autism Awareness Month in April, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve moved into our new facility located at 695 Buggy Circle in Carbondale, CO! While there is still more work to be completed, we are excited to celebrate this stage and unveil our new building by hosting a Business After Hours event on Wednesday, April 16 from 4-6 p.m. – All Carbondale Chamber members and Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association members are invited, as well as Ascendigo staff, Board, clients and supporters. Guests must REGISTER to attend!
We invite your business to take part in these initiatives and contribute to making a real difference in the lives of individuals with autism. Let’s work together to foster acceptance and understanding, ensuring everyone feels valued and included.
If you’re interested in exploring partnership opportunities or have any questions, please reach out to Victoria MacFarlane at vmacfarlane@ascendigo.org. Together, we can create a lasting impact this Autism Awareness Month and beyond.
Thank you for your support!
Let’s make this Autism Awareness Month a time of meaningful change in our community!
