This fall, Adult Adventures offers a variety of engaging, community-based courses designed for neurodivergent adults in the Roaring Fork Valley. From creative expression and fitness to outdoor recreation and life skills, each course provides opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills, connect with others, and have fun.nt.

Each course is designed and led by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and reflects Ascendigo’s strong commitment to person-centered, meaningful support that builds confidence, independence, and joy. Programs are open to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Fall Course Dates:

September 21 – December 11, 2026
Courses are designed and supported by Ascendigo staff, with a focus on person-centered support, meaningful experiences, independence, and joy. Programs are open to adults with intellectual and developmental differences.

Medicaid Funding Accepted

Medicaid funding is accepted for Adult Adventures courses. Eligible participants may use their Medicaid benefits to help cover program costs. Medicaid funding does not cover activity fees such as admission fees and/or additional costs beyond staff time. Private-pay options are also available.

Fall 2026 Course

CMC Art Course

Explore creativity and self-expression through hands-on art experiences at Colorado Mountain College with this Foundations in Fabrication course. Participants will develop artistic skills, build confidence, and enjoy creating alongside peers in an inclusive environment.

Mondays: 9/21-12/7 from 12:00-4:00 PM

Clay Course

Get creative with clay! Participants will explore hands-on techniques, create unique projects, and develop fine motor skills, creativity, and self-expression in a supportive studio environment.

Tuesdays: 9/22-11/10 from 12:00-4:00 PM

Hiking

Get outside and explore the beauty of the Roaring Fork Valley. This course combines outdoor recreation, physical activity, community connection, and opportunities to build confidence and independence on the trail. 

Wednesdays: 9/23-12/9 from 12:00-4:00 PM

Horseback Riding

Build confidence, coordination, and connection through horseback riding. Participants will develop riding and horsemanship skills while enjoying meaningful time outdoors and working alongside supportive staff.

Thursdays: 9/24-10/29 from 12:00-4:00 PM (no class 10/1)

Weightlifting & Rock Climbing

Build strength, confidence, and healthy habits through a combination of weightlifting and indoor rock climbing. Participants will practice safe exercise techniques, develop physical fitness, and challenge themselves at their own pace.

Fridays: 9/25-12/11 12:00-4:00 PM (no class 10/2 & 11/27)

Ascendigo After Hours

Looking for something to do after work or school? After Hours offers fun, social, and community-based activities for neurodivergent adults and teens. Each course creates opportunities to build friendships, explore interests, practice independence, and enjoy time together in a supportive environment.

Dinner & Games

Cook, connect, and have fun! Participants will prepare and enjoy dinner together, then unwind with a variety of games and social activities.

Mondays: 9/21-12/7 from 4:00-6:30 PM

Roleplay & Realms

Step into a world of imagination, storytelling, strategy, and adventure. Participants will explore roleplaying games while building creativity, communication, problem-solving, and social skills

Tuesdays: 9/22-12/8 from 4:00-7:00 PM

Bowling

Hit the lanes, build skills, and enjoy some friendly competition! Bowling offers a fun way to stay active, practice independence, and connect with friends in the community.

Thursdays: 9/24-12/10 4:00-7:00 PM (no class 10/1 & 11/26)

Fall into something fun with Adult Adventures & After Hours!

November & December Courses

Swimming

Build water confidence, fitness, and independence through swimming. Participants will practice swimming and water-safety skills while staying active and having fun in a supportive environment.

Thursdays: 11/5-12/10 from 12:00-4:00 PM (no class 11/26)

Holiday Baking

Celebrate the season through baking, creativity, and connection. Participants will learn practical kitchen skills, follow recipes, practice teamwork, and create delicious holiday treats to share and enjoy.

Tuesdays: 11/17-12/8 from 12:00-4:00 PM
