Ascendigo Way
The Ascendigo Way
The Ascendigo Way is our unique, values-driven approach to supporting learners, grounded in evidence-based practice and a commitment to continuous learning. It informs the design and delivery of personalized programs through eight clear, actionable principles that foster joy, growth, and a meaningful quality of life.
Rooted in our mission to elevate the spectrum by empowering people, inspiring lives, and shattering expectations, the Ascendigo Way envisions a community where individuals with autism/IDD can thrive in the pursuit of purposeful lives—where challenges are embraced as opportunities for growth, and where meaningful community integration leads to mutual enrichment.
Eight Guiding Principles
At Ascendigo, our approach is rooted in The Ascendigo Way—eight guiding principles that shape every interaction, whether we’re welcoming a new camper to summer camp or onboarding a full-time client. It begins with truly getting to know each individual and their family—building authentic connections, understanding their unique perspectives, and uncovering what sparks joy. From there, we personalize a plan by identifying meaningful goals for both the individual and their family, then applying the science of ABA to create a clear path forward. Finally, we bring it to life—taking skills and strategies into real-world settings, from climbing a rock wall to navigating the community with confidence. When these principles work in harmony, we see growth, independence, and lasting success.
Make Relationships Real.
Authentic, genuine, and trusting relationships are at the heart of meaningful learning and growth. In all their forms, these connections require clear definition, respect, warmth, and flexibility to support each person’s unique role and foster lasting success.
Know. Understand. Appreciate.
Expertise in autism and disability practices enables us to understand each learner’s unique perspective and see the world through their eyes. Guided by empathy and curiosity, we seek to uncover the why behind behaviors, supporting each individual with respect, insight, and intention.
Find the Joy.
Joy is both an outcome and a strategy. We embed moments of fun, wonder, and celebration to boost engagement, motivation, and success.
Center People in the Practice.
Services are personalized, strengths-based, and centered on the quality of life of the learner, their families, and our team.
Work on What Matters.
We focus on goals that build independence, competence, real-world skills, and a sense of purpose—based on what truly matters in each person’s life. From daily living needs to long-term aspirations, we create meaningful opportunities that support growth and lasting progress toward a full, empowered life.
Put Behavior Basics into Practice.
Apply compassionate, evidence-based strategies across varied settings to support diverse IDD learners and bring behavioral tools to life in everyday practice.
Create Experiences. Build Competencies.
We learn by doing, and meaningful experiences are a human right. Real-world opportunities build confidence, independence, and skills—grounded in the belief that everyone can learn, grow, and thrive.
Consider the Environment.
We intentionally shape physical and social environments to foster comfort, growth, and autonomy. Natural settings are our goal—adapted as needed to support success, connection, and inclusion. Everyone benefits from environments designed to bring out their best.
